Fear IS a Liar

As of this writing, there is a new song out, written by Zach Williams called Fear Is a Liar. Take a look at the lyrics to the chorus of this song:

Fear, he is a liar

He will take your breath

Stop you in your steps

Fear he is a liar

He will rob your rest

Steal your happiness

Cast your fear in the fire

‘Cause fear he is a liar

There is a lot of truth captured in this little song. Fear IS a liar.  Let’s talk about it for a minute.

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

-Dale Carnegie

Every single day, intelligent, outgoing, kind, loving, wonderful people just like yourself do not do what they know they are purposed to be doing for one reason and one reason only – FEAR.

Here’s is what you need to know. In life, fear is part of the process.

First day at a new school – Fear!

First day on a new job – Fear!

Quitting your 9 to 5 in order to launch your new business – Fear!

Heading to the doctor to find out the results of your tests – Fear!

Report cards, traffic accidents, relationships, final exams, marriage, divorce, flying, retirement – all of it comes with a sense of fear.

Fear - manI shake my head at some of my fellow motivational personalities who try to convince people that they can remove fear from their lives. No – you can’t. Fear is always going to be part of life’s equation.  Some of you reading this are dealing with fear right now.

You can never get rid of fear in your life, but you can face it, and diminish it to some extent and that happens when you take action.

The truth is, most of the things in our lives that we fear or that we worry about never happen.  Some studies say as much as 90% of our worries never come to fruition.

Benjamin Franklin said “Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen.”

So how do you overcome that lying fear?  One word – ACTION!  Jumping to a new job

Do something! Go after what you want. Get on that plane. Accept that new job. Ask that girl out. Buy that business license. Get up on stage and sing that song or make that presentation. Ask for that raise. JUST DO IT!

The truth is, you won’t be able to wring your hands in worry if your hands are busy making something happen.

Fear is a liar. Do not let it hold you down.

Life begins TODAY!!!
